Case Study: Impact projections

Future projections help to understand market size and potential impact.

IHME Client Services developed custom future scenarios with the R&D and HEOR functions within one Pharmaceutical company to understand the potential population/market with early-stage cancer that could receive early-stage interventions.

The scenarios focused on addressing one question:
By increasing cancer screening rates by 80%, how are the prevalance rates of cancer going to change through 2040?.

Leveraging IHME's estimates and machinery, as well as Client-data, three scenarios were developed: a reference, better, and worse scenario. The scenarios helped to predict the progression of cancer, informing their outcomes based on pricing, and increasing the efficacy of research and development investments.

IHME's rich data supported the client's efforts to expand population-based screening implementation and improve early detection by forecasting the population/market size. These scenarios helped to understand the market demand for various treatments to be implemented as a result of the population-based early-staged screening.
