Resilience.

Creating actionable data for decision-makers to anticipate and address emerging

disruptive events, impacting health and the planet.

The Resilience Initiative works with multi-disciplinary organizations to provide independent data and analysis to guide leaders locally and globally in addressing emerging disruptive events, impacting health and the planet. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed how a seemingly remote risk at the local level, improperly mitigated, could damage human welfare, economic security, and political stability in countries far from the source.

By developing systems to monitor data and threat levels, data can be utilized for a future better prepared to anticipate and address emerging disease outbreaks, impacting global public health. The Initiative’s ongoing assessment of population strengths and vulnerabilities has built the foundation to take a deeper look into future health threats from climate change, food security, and shifting population. These new data streams could be analyzed to empower a range of governmental, economic, and technological solutions.

The Resilience Initiative is focused on the following key functions:
  • Identifying triggers: Creating comprehensive early warning systems for disease outbreaks to detect and monitor health system vulnerabilities and critical threats to global public health.
  • Providing information to act upon: Help decision-makers respond appropriately to threats at different levels.
