Shayla Smith

Engagement Manager

Shayla Smith is an Engagement Manager with IHME Client Services where she helps health systems, insurance, life sciences, and technology clients leverage IHME’s population health data for strategic decision-making within their organizations. Prior to joining IHME Client Services in 2020, Shayla worked for MetroPlus Health Plan in New York developing their population health strategy to reduce avoidable hospitalizations. Her other experiences include being the lead data analyst for Lenox Hill Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a Health Program Manager as a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama. Her research includes the analysis and evaluation of the pediatric HIV testing program in South Africa. Shayla earned her BS in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University and her MPH in Epidemiology from Columbia University.
